Georgia Kanellopoulou

I graduated from the school of environmental and mineral resources engineering at Technical University of Crete. During my studies my passion for nature motivated me to become a climber and a speleologist. In 2004 during my visit in Zagori region as a participant for a speleological mission I encountered this breathtaking landscape. As I did not want to consume my life in an urban or industrial environment in 2009 I returned to Zagori determined to devote my energy and passion in this fascinating area.

After living in Zagori for six years and closely observing and recording the nature I managed to obtain deeper understanding of the surrounding abiotic, biotic and cultural environment. During that period I completed my master degree on mapping geotrails in Zagori, which is part of Vikos Aoos Geopark. To me, the geopark provides the context for the best learning experience as it blends some of the most scenic views in the world with unique geology, ecosystems and surrounding cultures that has managed to remain untouched by the industrialized world. In this sense, visiting this region is like traveling back in time!

Paris Zografos

I was born in Athens. I attended the American College in Greece and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History (Modern History and History of Russia). I continued my studies in the University of London (UCL) obtaining a Masters of Arts degree in Prehistoric Archaeology (Minoan and Mycenaean Civilizations).

I worked for sixteen years in big multinational organizations in Greece and abroad in marketing and sales. Thereafter I set up my own Logistics company in Greece for twelve years.

In 2009 I made a major change in my life switching my attention to nature which always has been my dream, in  Zagori and the Ionian Sea (skipper). From 2011  onwards following my instinct and passion for the environment and its preservation and having attended various seminars dealing with the interpretation of Natural and Cultural Heritage I devoted myself to Zagori where I have been present from 1985 with my summer house. At present besides enjoying running on the mountains, I spend most of my time wondering on the mountain-trails and absorbing nature’s beauty getting well prepared to transfuse it to our guests.
