Feta pie (Alevropitta)
This is a very easy, well-loved savory pie, perfect for lunch or as an appetizer.
200 g flour
250 g feta cheese (Dodoni is very good)
2 eggs
100 g butter
½ cup milk
water
dash salt, if needed
Dice the butter. Scatter half of the butter on a large baking tin, place in the oven and preheat to180-200 °C. Meanwhile beat the eggs, flour, milk and if necessary a bit of water to make a batter, somewhat like pancake batter. Crumble in half the feta cheese. Add salt if needed.
Take the baking tin out of the oven, the butter should be melted and browned. Pour in the batter, crumble the rest of the feta over the pie, and dot with the rest of the butter.
Bake 20-30 minutes until crispy and browned.
